Blog Sites
The internet has changed the way we create and consume information. We’re no long restricted to reading books by the few book publishers of the world, nor are we reliant upon them to publish our works. The playing field is level and everyone has a chance to have their voice heard.
What is a blog website?
Blogs, short for web logs, are effectively online journals and are the most popular type of website on the internet. Whilst most blogs don’t contain the authors deep, dark secrets, they do contain the authors views and opinions. Blogs provide a platform which can be used by both individuals and businesses to get their message across. Even hobby blogs about a particular topic can gain a potentially huge following online.
Why would I want a blog?
For an individual a blog can be a place to keep friends and family up to date with your day to day life, or even about certain hobbies in particular. You can create a blog about whatever interests you and use it as a way of connecting with others who are interested in similar topics. Some people use blogs to help others in the form of education articles, and videos, whilst others use their blogs as an online scrapbook of cool things they’ve found online. What will you blog about?
For businesses, blogging is a key tool in building a reputation online. Blogging gives you a platform where you can communicate with customers, build relationships, and provide value. Giving away high value content, with regards to your industry or business is key in securing new customers online. Another advantage is that all content on your blog will eventually work it’s way into the search engines. So, writing about something that will interest your potential customers, will draw them to your blog, where they can get to know you, and your business.
