After working tirelessly for the past two weeks on the new website for the Prestige Performance Centre (http://www.ppcgb.com) I decided to head down to the Gumball 3000 to see what the fuss was about.
It was only a couple days before that PPC GB offered to let RX Host officially sponsor their cars, so I had even more of a reason to be excited about heading down to the Gumball.
Woking late on a project meant I only managed to squeeze in a couple hours of sleep before having to be up at 7am, leaving me enough time to get ready and meet up with the PPC GB boys at 9am.
Getting out of bed was tough, but a couple taps of the snooze button later and morning rituals over, I was finally on my way the Gumball 3000.
Emerging from Charing Cross Underground station, it was only a couple minutes before we saw our first Gumball car as we made our way down to Pall Mall. We stopped for a quick wander around Waterloo place, where Tony Hawk would later do his thing on the half pipe. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see him in action, so if you were there and have videos or pictures, please drop me a comment below.
If you have never been to the Gumball before, I highly recommend it. Even if you aren’t much of a car person, there’s bound to be something that catches your attention. I mean do you remember the Batmobile?
And if the cars really don’t do it for you, there’s always the chance that you’ll bump into one of the celebs taking part. Aside from Batman, I managed to bump into xzibit and heard Dizzee Rascal, David Hasselhoff, and Eve were roaming around somewhere.
Just as a side note, I had no idea that Xzibit would be driving Design 911’s White Porsche Cayenne – I say this as Design 911 is another company we do some work for.
The rest of the day flew by, and for a minute there I thought I wasn’t even going to have any pictures to share when I wrote this blog post – the memory card in my camera snapped! I contemplated taking pictures on my phone, but after about all of five mintues, I changed my mind. I along with Jason (from PPC GB) headed down to The Strand. Being stuck in the past and not having an iPhone or access to the internet we were just hoping we’d find a shop that would have the memory card we needed.
Armed with a new memory card, I took a bunch of pictures and even some videos. If all goes to plan you’ll be able to see the pictures below and I’ll post the videos in another post soon.
